Social Networking Blog

Social networking is what as known an interaction between a group of people or in individuals, using social media platform to interact with each another, sharing, discussing or exchange ideas and etc.

The impact of social networks on young people is significant. Children are growing up surrounded by mobile devices and interactive social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook, which has made the social media a vital aspect of their life. Social network is transforming the manner in which young people interact with their parents, peers, as well as how they make use of technology.

As a design student myself I’m using google apps or Facebook in my studies, for instance Google doc was a new experience for me to share, record and edit notes that I take from lectures session, for the few week we ware assign a survey form using google form to experience the uses of google multiple apps service.

To me, it was already a known knowledge as before the class, but after a few weeks in class I have quite a surprise that I still have lots to learn, for instance using google slide for group presentation, my group members are able to access to the open platform by discuss through google hangout and edit content in google slide for preparation in the presentation. I found out google hangout is kind of similar to Skype by just sharing links you can chat with multiple person at the same time. This was very convenient for me as some of my group mates are staying long distance away so we can still chat via internet, And at times for other assignment, I use google drive to store some of my project files so I can safely store my work without worries, and also sharing across classmate so they can too access to my work and giving opinion, therefor improving my learning and understanding of the lectures topic.

And last to wrap it up, I do think this social networking class is useful but as for the learning outcome, I think I learn more by myself just by exploring and trail & error.
